Rules of Engagement first aired in 2007 as a mid-season replacement for The New Adventures of Old Christine. Produced by Happy Mansion Productions, the company belonging to Adam Sandler, Rules of Engagement is now in its fifth season.
Rules of Engagement features relationships that are all at different stages. You have Adam and Jennifer (played by Oliver Hudson and Bianca Kajlich) who see everything through the eyes of a newly engaged couple when love is in its first passionate phase, then you have Jeff and Audrey (played by Patrick Warburton and Megyn Price) who have been married for a long time and are in a completely different phase of their relationship and lastly but by no means the least, you have Russell (played by David Spade) who is a man about town looking for a relationship and who hopes to find it with Timmy (Adhir Kalyan) his assistant.
Rules of Engagement was promoted to an extreme during Superbowl XLI and the pilot episode still remains its highest ratings yet - the second season returned to our screens as the midterm replacement and it had to stop after only nine episodes due to the writers’ strike. The show still goes on though and now CBS have announced the next season is underway although it won’t start mid season but rather in September.
